Specific Experience
Over the last decade, EDI Solutions personnel have performed a wide range of engineering and project tasks for Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) and the Department of Defence including:
Engineering Management
- Development of SPO Engineering Management Plans (EMP) and Acquisition and Sustainment Engineering Processes. This was achieved utilising a customised format developed specifically for SPOs. Since implementation, these artefacts have provided significant demonstrable process efficiencies and enhanced compliance with DASR airworthiness regulations.
- Extensive support to CASG Configuration Management and Interface Management activities, including development of detailed policies and procedures.
- Provision of extensive formal and informal mentoring services to CASG engineering staff, thereby contributing to the growth and development of this capability within the RAAF.
Sustainment
- Performance of senior engineering management roles within SPOs. For example, an EDI Solutions member oversaw design engineering activities (Design Review, Approve and Acceptance) for all Air Traffic Management (ATM) sustainment activities, whilst growing an organic ATM engineering capability within CASG.
- Provision of a wide variety of sustainment and project engineering services in support of high priority CASG programs. In almost all cases, responsible staff independently exercised engineering authority in accordance with requirements under DASR.
Acquisition
- Provision of extensive engineering services in support to CASG Major and Minor Projects including AIR 5431, JP3024, AIR5333 and AIR 5405, AIR6500. Example services provided include requirements analysis of Capability Definition Documents, engineering review of Safety Management Program and development of Design Accomplishment Summaries.
- Assistance in the drafting and development of RFT documentation, assessment of RFT responses and development of contract documentation with the successful tenderer in support of Defence acquisition activities
